History

The '88' was a highly effective anti-tank weapon in France during 1940. By its deployment in North Africa, it had become a dreaded tank destroyer, capable of eliminating any Allied tank from distances exceeding 1000 metres. The Sd.Kfz.7 was able to transport gun crews of up to 12 men in theatre-style seating.

This model embodies the spirit of Airfix's legacy, with mould tools originating from 1967 and showcasing the classic packaging illustration by Roy Cross from that year. As a part of the Vintage Classics series, it stands as a piece of modelling heritage that has captivated hobbyists for decades.

The pairing of the powerful 88mm gun and its half-track tractor provides modellers with an authentic representation of World War Two military equipment, ideal for dioramas or display alongside other vintage Airfix models.
