• HISTORY ASPECTS:
• The Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse, also known as the Nashorn, was a formidable tank destroyer used by the German army during World War II. It was designed to provide long-range, high-velocity firepower against enemy armored vehicles and fortifications. One of the most notable conflicts where the Nashorn saw action was on the Eastern Front during Operation Barbarossa.
• During Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, the Nashorn played a critical role in the early stages of the campaign. Its potent 88mm PaK 43 gun could easily penetrate the armor of Soviet tanks, including the formidable T-34. This made the Nashorn a valuable asset for the German army as they advanced deep into Soviet territory.
• Later in the war, the Nashorn was also used on the Western Front, where it continued to prove its effectiveness as a tank destroyer. Its powerful gun allowed it to engage and destroy Allied tanks and armored vehicles, making it a formidable opponent.
• Now, you can own a meticulously detailed 1:72 scale model of the Sd.Kfz.164 Hornisse in its distinctive Tri-Color Camouflage. This model not only commemorates the historical significance of the Nashorn but also showcases the intricate details of this iconic tank destroyer. Display it proudly as a symbol of the technological advancements and firepower of the German army during World War II.
