Product details

Kadee 1745 brings the AAR SBE bottom-shelf head to O-scale equipment needing a medium centerset shank. Metal couplers, insulated plastic draft gearboxes and centering springs are supplied for two pairs of installations.

Features and package contents

  • Four No. 1745 metal SBE bottom-shelf couplers with medium centerset shanks.
  • Four No. 817 plastic gearboxes with lids and five No. 850 O-scale centering springs.
  • Compatible with Kadee O-scale couplers.
  • Medium shank measures 47/64 inch from the knuckle pulling face to the gearbox center.
  • No. 817 gearbox: 25/32 inch long, 1/2 inch wide and 7/32 inch high.

Compatibility and installation

Assembly and fitting are required. Confirm height, mounting space and clearance on your model. Use the included No. 817 insulated gearboxes or a suitable alternative arrangement; avoid electrically conductive mounting that could cause shorts. Mounting hardware must suit the model. Rolling stock, tools and alternative gearboxes are not included.
