Give a suitable HO freight car the Bettendorf double-truss truck style with Kadee 500. The pair combines sprung metal sideframes and bolsters with 33-inch smooth-back wheels, representing the 50-ton truck used on many freight-car designs.

Features and package contents

  • One pair of assembled truck frames with metal sideframes and sprung bolsters.
  • 33-inch prototype-diameter smooth back metal wheels; Code 110 wheel width.
  • Nonmagnetic RP-25 wheels and contoured insulated axles.
  • Uses No. 637 truck springs.

Compatibility and installation

Check the bolster, mounting clearance and ride height against your exact car. Mounting uses a suitable No. 2 or 2-56 screw; truck-mounting screws are not included. The trucks are assembled but require fitting to your car. Verify free truck movement, wheel gauge and coupler height after installation. Code 110 describes wheel width, not the required rail code.
