Kadee #743 is an O scale Magne-Matic coupler set with new-generation AAR Type E prototype heads and short centerset metal shanks. This black-finish package provides two pairs of couplers for compatible O scale rolling stock.
Included in the package
- Four #743 Type E metal couplers with short centerset shanks.
- Four #806-type short plastic draft gearboxes and lids.
- Five #850 O scale centering springs.
Fit and installation
The short shank measures 47/64 in. from the knuckle pulling face to the draft-gearbox center hole. These couplers work with #806-type gearboxes and can replace Kadee #806 O scale short centerset couplers. Check mounting height and electrical isolation for your rolling stock; Kadee cautions against direct metal-on-metal mounting because of potential electrical shorting.
