Instead of an ordinary opaque roadbed, its transparent base lets you see underneath displayed N-scale rolling stock or locomotives. When to use the clear version
Choose 20-016A when the track needs to function as a visual display, where the underneath of a model matters. For an ordinary opaque inspection pit, KATO also makes the 20-016 four-piece set; that is a different product and package quantity. Plan the 186 mm geometry and connections before combining these sections with an existing UNITRACK layout.

Is this a four-pack?
No. The 20-016A clear edition is packaged with eight sections. Do not confuse it with the standard 20-016 release.
Can I connect it to ordinary UNITRACK?
Yes. KATO states that the clear section connects with normal UNITRACK using its UniJoiners. Its primary intended application is vehicle display.
