Four shorter straights or a longer mainline section?
Four 124 mm straights offer more joints and more flexibility in a compact narrow-gauge scene than two longer 248 mm pieces would. The KATO 20-004 is standard N-scale double-track with concrete-tie styling, however, not this narrow-gauge-looking 52-series single straight. Similar rail gauge alone does not make their roadbed profiles or track plans equivalent.
Is this the right track for an ordinary N-scale double mainline?
