The Märklin 72442 braking module controls stopping of compatible digital locomotives with regulated high-efficiency propulsion. It provides connections for a two-aspect color light signal and the three isolated track sections required for controlled stopping.
Operate it with a k 83 decoder or a conventional 7272/72720 control box. The installation requires a transition section of approximately 70–90mm, a braking section of at least 40–50cm, and a safety section that switches off the operating voltage. Braking distance depends on the locomotive decoder setting. Track, signal, decoder and control box are separate.
Specifications are listed alongside the product details above.
Match the listed scale and track gauge to your layout. For locomotives, check the power system, decoder and sound details; DCC ready does not mean a decoder is installed. For rolling stock, check couplers, clearance and the manufacturer's minimum-radius requirement where provided.
