The SoundTraxx 810140 CurrentKeeper stores electrical energy to help a compatible decoder continue operating through brief losses of track pickup. Its long, narrow shape provides an alternative to the shorter and wider CurrentKeeperII when arranging components inside a locomotive.

Features and specifications

  • Module dimensions: 40 × 6 × 11 mm.
  • Designed to support operation across momentary interruptions caused by dirty track, limited pickup or unpowered switch frogs.
  • Includes one CurrentKeeper module with attached leads and connector.

Compatibility and installation

Confirm decoder compatibility and physical clearance before installation. A matching CurrentKeeper connector or decoder-specific wiring is required; this is not a universal plug-in fit. Follow the CurrentKeeper and decoder instructions, including the recommended DCC analog-mode and timeout settings. Stored-power duration depends on the locomotive load and installation. Decoder, locomotive and installation tools are not included.
