Snorkel Hot Wheels: Lift Parts and Originality Guide
Snorkel’s folded lift has several small edges and joints that disappear in a distant side photograph. The orange-red basket and white platform can look complete until you see them from above. Start there before choosing a favorite cab color.

The 1971 lift truck
The Hong Kong-made Snorkel uses the short Heavyweights truck base, blue glazing and dark or white interiors. Its attachment is interchangeable with compatible equipment. The entire plastic lift assembly has also been reproduced.
A lift that fits neatly may therefore be original, replaced or assembled from parts. Ask which components the seller represents as original and what supports that description.
Check each thin section
Follow the basket rim, lift arm and pivot areas in the photograph. Look for missing corners, stress marks or glue. Check the platform’s edges and mounting separately from the moving arm.
If the mechanism is sound, a gentle raised view can help. Stop at resistance; a stiff joint does not need to be forced to match another truck’s pose. Keep any repair in the description even when the lift still moves.
Color is not an age test
The reference notes yellowing on older plastic, but that is not a reliable authentication test by itself. Storage, cleaning and replacement parts affect appearance. Bright white does not prove a new assembly, and yellowed plastic does not prove an untouched truck.
Some white-enamel trucks suffer metal deterioration. Examine the cab and base for cracks or distortion without bending or squeezing them. Paint wear and structural soundness belong in separate notes.

Request the full package when one is claimed, with the lift visible through the blister. There is no need to open an intact package just to demonstrate movement.
