1985 Hot Wheels Nightstreaker: Magenta Ultra Hots P-928

Nightstreaker is the Porsche 928 under another name. For the 1985 Ultra Hots release, look for the metallic-magenta body and lightning decoration, then check the windows and wheel faces. It is a specific release of the earlier P-928 casting, not a new fantasy racer introduced that year.
Reference photograph: South Texas Diecast. The carded example shows the Ultra Hots presentation. This small archive photograph cannot resolve the window-color variation or fine condition details.
Black or gray windows?
The 1985 release record lists both black and gray window versions with Ultra Hots wheels. The Hot Wheels Newsletter documents a Malaysia base and turquoise, yellow and white lightning decoration. Record the window color separately from the body shade.
Ask for a close view of the windshield and side windows in even light. Dark glazing can look different through an aged blister, and a reflection is not enough to establish the gray-window version. If the photograph does not settle it, leave that field unresolved.
Do not confuse the neighboring releases
The same casting appeared as the green Predator in 1984 and as a metallic-gray Nightstreaker in 1987. Neither is the magenta 1985 version. The broader P-928 collector record groups the related releases; keep this car’s actual color, decoration and package name in your own notes.
What the package can and cannot tell you
The Ultra Hots branding is clear in the reference photo, but the car is small and partly obscured by the blister. Before buying a carded example, request the full front and back, the blister attachment and a close view of the car itself. Check for cracks or lifting around the seal without opening the package.
For a loose car, get both sides and the underside. Photograph the wheel faces, window surfaces and hood graphics, and record any repaint or wheel replacement. Use the loose-car checklist to keep condition separate from release identification.
