Choose M1201009 for the advertised number 7 MkII-B, Hill and Muir, 1966 subject; choose M1201008 for the number 4 MkIV, Hulme and Ruby, 1967 subject. These Masterpiece Collection GT40 models are offered at 1:12 within Muncle Mikes' Acme collection. They need substantially more display room than a typical 1:18 car.

Number 7: M1201009

The MkII-B number 7 offer identifies Graham Hill and Brian Muir, Alan Mann, and Le Mans 1966 in its product title. Use that complete release identity when comparing it with another GT40 carrying a similar number or body designation.

Choose this model when the specifically advertised pairing and subject are what you collect. Driver names in the title do not indicate signatures or figures included with the car.

Number 4: M1201008

The MkIV number 4 offer identifies Denny Hulme and Lloyd Ruby, Holman Moody, and Le Mans 1967. This is a different named GT40 subject, not a repaint of the same advertised MkII-B identity.

A collection centered on one driver pairing, team or body designation should choose accordingly. This comparison makes no claim that either linked car is a race-winning release; a race reference in a product name does not establish its finishing position.

What the two models share

Both descriptions list positionable wheels, rubber tires, opening hood, doors and engine-compartment access. The construction combines diecast metal with plastic components, and both are complete-car offers.

Those shared features make the model identity the primary choice rather than an assumed difference in the number of openings. We have not conducted a side-by-side physical test and do not assign a quality ranking between them.

Plan around a 14.25-inch model

The listed approximate dimensions for each are 14.25 inches long, 6 wide and 3.25 high. Measure the shelf's usable depth as well as its width: a narrow display may accommodate the length while leaving insufficient room for the car's width or open doors.

The scale number works in the opposite direction to a size ranking: 1:12 is a larger reproduction ratio than 1:18 for the same full-size subject. It does not mean the miniature is 12 inches long. Use the product's actual dimensions rather than deriving a case size from the label.

Neither offer establishes that a separate clear display case is included. An open-compartment arrangement needs additional space beyond the closed-car dimensions, and the complete package may be larger still.

Choose the exact GT40 before the enclosure

Select the body designation, number and pairing you want, then plan room for the model and its intended pose. Check the current M1201009 or M1201008 offer in the Acme Models & Collectibles collection.
