Bachmann HO CP Rail #60026 Green 40-Foot Box Car (16004) Guide

The Bachmann 16004 HO 40-foot box car is decorated for CP Rail #60026 in green. This exact-product guide covers the identifiers and manufacturer-listed details that help distinguish this car from other CP Rail and 40-foot boxcar releases.

Product identity and scale

• Manufacturer: Bachmann
• Item number: 16004
• Road name and number: CP Rail #60026
• Color listed: Green
• Scale: HO, 1:87
• UPC: 022899160047
• Model dimensions: 6.5 in. long × 1.5 in. wide × 2 in. high

Use the item number and road number together when checking a roster or comparing marketplace titles. “CP Rail boxcar” alone is too broad to identify this version reliably. Bachmann places 16004 in its 40-foot boxcar family and lists this release as CP Rail #60026 in green.

Details to look for on the model

Bachmann’s product listing specifies a painted body with precision graphics, an opening sliding corrugated door, a detailed underframe, separately applied roofwalk and brake wheel, and added weight. The door is a moving display detail; do not assume that a freight load or other interior accessory is included unless the live product record says so.

The running gear is listed with magnetically operated E-Z Mate Mark II couplers, detailed trucks with see-through sideframes, and blackened metal wheels with RP25 contours. Treat those as model specifications to compare with the equipment already on your railroad. Before operating mixed rolling stock, check coupler height and type, wheel gauge, and clearances. Refer to Bachmann’s current instructions for service or setup questions; the listing does not establish a minimum curve radius or universal fit with every layout.

Choosing it for an HO roster

First verify the 1:87 HO scale and the exact CP Rail #60026 identity. Then use the published 6.5 × 1.5 × 2-inch model dimensions to consider shelf spacing, siding length, and nearby structures. Actual operating clearance depends on the full train, curve geometry, and layout obstacles, so measure the intended route rather than relying on car length alone.

For a working freight consist, inspect the trucks and couplers after unpacking and run a low-speed test before adding the car to a longer train. For a display, compare the green finish, white CP Rail lettering, number, and underframe with neighboring cars. These checks help confirm that the selected release matches the scene you want to build without overstating compatibility.
