Airbus A330 Tanker vs. Airliner Models: Which Collection Are You Building?

Choose the French A330 MRTT for a military-aircraft collection; choose an airline A330 when the carrier and passenger-aircraft presentation are the point. The shared A330 name is not enough to make the models interchangeable.
A buyer comparing them should decide what the display represents before choosing paint or price. A gray tanker, an illustrated Lufthansa aircraft and a Garuda airliner each communicate a different subject.
Compare military and civil Airbus models
The French MRTT: a military operator and tanker configuration
The French A330 MRTT G2FAF803 is listed as a tanker in Gemini 200. Its gray body, national markings and depicted equipment distinguish the model from an airline-livery purchase.
Choose it when a French military subject is missing from your shelf. The name of the full-size role describes the aircraft represented; it does not promise functioning refueling equipment on the miniature.
This offer includes a stand. The GM105 version is a separate 1:400 model without a stand, not a cheaper copy of the same-sized package.
Lufthansa: a passenger-airline subject with special artwork
The Lufthansa A330-300 G2DLH1221 carries the Diversity Wins and Fanhansa scheme. It suits a Lufthansa or special-livery collection rather than a military-only display.
The model's attraction is its airline identity and fuselage artwork. It does not become a tanker because it shares part of the A330 family name with the MRTT.
Garuda: another civil variant, not another tanker finish
The Garuda Indonesia A330-900 G2GIA969 changes both the airline and the specific A330 variant. Its blue-and-turquoise tail offers a more airline-logo-focused display than Lufthansa's prominent slogan artwork.
For a gift, find out whether the recipient asked for A330 generally, A330-900 specifically, or the French tanker. Those are three different levels of detail, and the most specific request should guide the purchase.
Can they share a display?
Yes, as a deliberate comparison of military and civil aircraft in the same scale. The G2FAF803, G2DLH1221 and G2GIA969 offers are all 1:200 with stands included.
Keep the display description honest: it is a collector's comparison, not a claimed photograph of an actual airport visit or joint operation. If depicting one historical occasion matters, the aircraft, markings and date need separate verification.
The 1:400 tanker would not remain proportional alongside those 1:200 airliners. Separate the scales or choose the matching tanker release.
What the purchase does not include
These are individual finished models with no opening body panels listed. No refueling partner aircraft, terminal, ramp vehicles or military diorama base is supplied merely because it would make a fitting scene.
Start with one aircraft that belongs in your collection. For the two tanker sizes, use the French MRTT scale comparison; for the airline versions, use the A330-300 and A330-900 guide.
