Match the pit crew to the scale printed on your race car’s listing or packaging. American Diorama’s 1:18, 1:43 and 1:64 offers are not interchangeable, and the 1:64 six-figure Formula Pit Crew format is not simply a seven-figure set in a smaller box.

Color is a secondary choice. Selecting the right orange, blue or black uniforms will not compensate for figures that are too large for the car.

Find a pit crew in your model’s scale

1:18: plan for people as tall as four inches

The 1:18 Team Black set, 76551, includes seven figures approximately 2.75–4 inches tall. Its listed roles include front-wheel work, a front jack man, front-wing adjustment and a lollipop man.

Choose it for a 1:18 display with room around the car, not just enough space for the vehicle’s wheels. A low-slung race car can fit under a cover that is too short for the tallest crew figure.

1:43: similar named roles, smaller physical figures

The 1:43 Team Black set, 38383, also lists seven figures and the corresponding original front-of-car role selection. Its approximate figure-height range is 1–1.5 inches.

The shared Team Black name makes the item number important. Check 38383 and 1:43 in the selected offer rather than assuming that a thumbnail identifies the size. A similar-looking product image can represent a much larger 1:18 set.

1:64: six-person Formula Pit Crew sets

The Team Orange set, AD-2441MJ, is a six-figure 1:64 purchase. It is listed as diecast metal, with figures approximately 0.75–1.125 inches tall.

The same inspected format is offered as Team Blue, AD-2442MJ, and Team Red, AD-2443MJ. Choose the exact color shown in the product photos.

Do not transfer the larger sets’ detailed accessory lists to these six-figure offers. Their own descriptions confirm six people and exclude the pictured car; they do not promise every lollipop, jack or spare tire named in another scale’s package.

Why the height ranges overlap

The top of a kneeling figure is lower than the top of a standing one. Some 1:43 and 1:64 height ranges therefore overlap, even though their nominal scale is different. Pick the stated scale first; use overall height as the next clearance check.

For the same real object, 1:43 is about 1.49 times the linear size of 1:64, calculated as 64 divided by 43. That difference is meaningful when people stand directly beside a model. It is not a harmless substitution merely because both products are small.

Scale does not settle every fit question

Matching 1:18, 1:43 or 1:64 does not guarantee that a jack will support a model, that a tool contacts a wheel, or that a driver fits a cockpit. Treat the figures as display pieces unless a specific working feature is stated.
