Herpa Cargo Aircraft: UPS 757 in 1:500 or Swissair DC-9 in 1:200?

Representative current product image for Herpa Cargo Aircraft: UPS 757 in 1:500 or Swissair DC-9 in 1:200?

Choose the UPS 757-200F for a compact 1:500 cargo fleet, or the Swissair DC-9-30F for a larger 1:200 individual display with a stand. Their miniature sizes should not be used to compare the real aircraft: the scale changes as well as the aircraft and operator.

UPS 757-200F: a familiar freight-airline presentation

The UPS model, HE524612-001, identifies Boeing 757-200F N475UP. The gallery shows the white fuselage, brown tail, gold dividing stripe and Worldwide Services titles.

Choose it when UPS or the 757 freighter is the reason for buying. The full -001 release suffix is worth recording so another listing with a similar picture does not obscure a different version or registration.

Its approximate listed dimensions are 3.75 inches long and 3 inches across the wings. No display stand is included, so the photographed landing-gear presentation is the straightforward starting point for a cargo-apron scene.

Swissair DC-9-30F: a larger, differently shaped subject

The Swissair model, HE573344, identifies HB-IFW. Its white-and-red finish, Swissair titles and rear-mounted engines give a different appearance from the UPS Boeing.

This 1:200 release includes a stand and has an approximate listed length of 7 inches. Choose it for the Swissair cargo subject or a stand-mounted classic-airliner display. It is not a 1:500 companion intended to reproduce the UPS aircraft's relative size.

The package image and loose view show the same model, not an additional aircraft. The finished livery is supplied on the collectible; this is not a paint-and-decal assembly kit.

Freighter identity does not promise an opening cargo door

Both product descriptions state no opening panels. Cargo-door outlines are exterior detailing, not evidence that a loader can place freight inside the miniature.

A scene with a service vehicle positioned nearby can still communicate the aircraft's role. A working loading demonstration needs additional confirmed features that these listings do not promise.

Neither model includes a warehouse, pallets or an airport base simply because those would suit the subject. Decide whether the goal is a finished aircraft on a shelf or a larger scene before adding accessories to the budget.

Choose ground equipment in the correct scale

The Herpa two-loader set, HE520621-001, is 1:500. That makes it a scale-appropriate starting point for a display alongside the UPS model, but not proof of exact platform-to-door-height alignment.

It is not proportion-matched to the 1:200 Swissair DC-9. For the same full-size vehicle, a 1:200 model would be 2.5 times larger in each linear dimension than a 1:500 version. Confirm accessory scale before choosing on color or maker alone.

Which purchase fits your collection?

Choose UPS for a compact freight fleet or an operator-specific gift. Choose Swissair for the larger DC-9 subject and included elevated support. Both can belong to a cargo-aircraft collection when their different scales are intentionally separated or labeled.

Use the exact model, registration and scale to avoid a near-match. The Herpa scale guide helps when planning the next aircraft around an existing display.
