M2 Volkswagen Delivery Vans: Four 1:24 Versions

Yellow M2 1960 Volkswagen Hurst Power Flowers van with a white roof, shown boxed and on a display base, item 40300-99B

The M2 Volkswagen Delivery Van in 1:24 gives its decoration plenty of room: choose Hurst Power Flowers for bright flowers, Maui & Sons for a surf graphic, Corn Nuts BBQ for red-and-yellow branding, or blue and white for a simpler two-tone finish. These four releases represent the 1960 van, and each exact listing specifies opening cargo doors.

The choice is between four separately sold, finished models. Match the full item number to the color and theme you want; “M2 Volkswagen van” alone is too broad to identify one of them. After choosing the design, plan for the model, its display base and the space needed to use the cargo doors.

Which 1960 Volkswagen van are you comparing?

Four exact M2 1:24 offers and their listed worldwide edition totals
Item Colors and theme Photographed detail Listed edition
40300-99B Yellow with bright-white top · Hurst Power Flowers Large flowers and Hurst lettering 6,550
40300-128B Light olive green with salmon top · Maui & Sons Circular Original Surf Co. graphic 6,650
40300-119A Red and yellow · Corn Nuts BBQ Large logo, BBQ lettering and flame outlines 6,250
40300-134B Blue and white Unlettered side panels and whitewall tires 6,650

These totals describe the published editions, not the number left in stock. A matching total does not identify a matching finish: both the Maui & Sons and blue-and-white offers are listed at 6,650, despite their different appearance.

Look at the side graphics, roof and wheels together

The long body panels make the side view especially useful when choosing a delivery van. Compare the actual photographs below, then open the matching listing for its current gallery and offer details.

For Hurst, the flowers and lettering spread across the yellow body, while the white roof carries a separate graphic. The Maui & Sons version leaves more light-green paint visible around its large circular design. If you intend to display the van below eye level, consider how much of the roof will be visible as well as the side.

Corn Nuts changes more than the brand name: its flame outlines and visible multi-spoke wheels create a different combination from the round hubcap-style wheel centers on the Hurst and Maui examples. The blue-and-white van adds prominent whitewall tires and an unlettered visible side. Choose those details deliberately rather than treating every release as identical apart from the logo.

Opening cargo doors: what the specifications establish

The complete specifications for each of these four item numbers list rubber tires, steerable wheels, diecast construction with some plastic parts and opening cargo doors. They also describe detailed interiors, exteriors and engine compartments. These are shared published features, so selecting the quieter blue-and-white decoration does not mean giving up the listed cargo-door function.

Keep that feature specific. “Opening cargo doors” does not establish that the front cab doors, roof and every other body panel are movable. The photos used here show the vans with their panels closed; they are useful for comparing the decoration, but they do not demonstrate the door travel or the space inside the cargo area.

If you want to display a van with its cargo doors open, allow space beside the model and check the actual movement before placing another model or a cover close to it. No usable cargo-opening or interior measurements are established here, so the van's outside dimensions cannot confirm that a separate miniature accessory will fit inside.

Allow for more than the seven-inch model length

All four exact descriptions give approximately 7 × 2.75 × 3 inches, in length × width × height order. Converted and rounded, that is about 17.8 × 7.0 × 7.6 cm. These are the listed model dimensions, not measurements taken by MM and not the outside dimensions of the retail box or display base.

The photographed bases extend beyond the vans. For a base-mounted display, measure the complete base footprint and total height with the model attached. For a boxed display, measure the box. A shelf that only matches the published seven-inch body length has not been shown to accommodate either presentation.

Choose the viewing angle before buying a separate cover. A three-quarter arrangement reveals the front VW emblem and much of the side, but may need more shelf depth than a straight side-on arrangement. Compare the cover's usable inside space with the whole display, including any open doors, then check its outside footprint against the shelf.

Read the package as part of the presentation

The galleries show each van on a labeled base and in a manufacturer window box. Hurst and Corn Nuts repeat their bold colors on the packaging; the Maui box carries its own green, orange and black graphic pattern. A collector who keeps boxes on display may prefer a different release from someone displaying only the model.

The photographed boxes for all four references are marked 14+. Check the age guidance on the actual package when choosing a gift. The boxes also show an opening-cargo-doors label, but a window box should not be treated as a promise of the same separate plastic showcase included with some other M2 products.

The Hurst photograph shows both “6,550 PCS” and a separate “750 CHASE PCS” line on the box. The exact 40300-99B offer compared here is the yellow-and-white model listed at 6,550; that extra package wording does not promise a chase version with this order.

Questions about these Volkswagen delivery vans

Does the combined box-and-model photo mean two vans are supplied?

No. The Hurst and blue-and-white card photos combine packaged and unboxed views of one offered model. Other gallery images use the same presentation approach. Buy by the exact listing's stated quantity, not by counting repeated views in a composite photograph.

Are the Maui & Sons and Hurst vans assembly kits?

These exact offers are finished diecast models. The listed steering and cargo-door features do not make them model-building kits. Select the specific reference you want rather than assuming all M2 Volkswagen products share the same format.

Where should I compare another van or a Volkswagen car?

The M2 Chevrolet G10 and Astro guide covers different van subjects in 1:64. If you want a Volkswagen car alongside a van, compare the four M2 1:24 Beetle finishes. Those are separate offers; a matching brand or scale does not establish identical dimensions or included display accessories.
