Motormax Lights and Sounds Models: Batteries, Features and Kit Differences

Black-and-white Motormax RAM 1500 Laramie lights-and-sounds pickup, 79544BKW

Buy a Motormax release explicitly labeled lights and sounds when working effects are the reason for your purchase. A roof lightbar on a police model does not, by itself, prove that it flashes. The three examples here document flashing roof, front and rear lights, two sounds, and three included AAA batteries—but two are also builder’s kits.

Tahoe PPV: electronics plus accessory installation

The white 2025 Tahoe PPV, 79623W, combines working effects with a 1:24 Chevrolet police-vehicle subject. Its front doors and rear gate open.

This is also a Custom Builder’s Kit. The description requires a drill to attach the included lightbar and push bar. Choose it when both the electronic display and the customization project appeal; do not treat the sound feature as evidence that all assembly is already completed.

Ford Police Interceptor: another electronic builder’s option

The 2022 black-and-white Ford, 79541BW, lists the same two-sound control arrangement and included battery type. It has opening front doors and also requires drilling for its lightbar and push bar.

Choose this release for the 2022 Ford identity rather than expecting a generic emergency SUV. Its approximate listed height is 3.5 inches, compared with 3.25 inches for the Tahoe, so check overhead clearance when shelving the models together.

RAM Laramie: a pickup-shaped alternative

The 2019 RAM Laramie, 79544BKW, gives you the electronic effects in a crew-cab pickup. Its front doors open, and it is listed at approximately 8.5 × 3 × 3.375 inches.

The checked description does not carry the Tahoe and Ford builder’s-kit drilling warning. It is therefore the relevant comparison for someone who wants this truck and documented effects without selecting one of those explicitly drill-required kits.

The RAM carries a combined 1:24 / 1:27 label. That does not mean two sizes are supplied or that you choose a scale at checkout. Confirm precise scale needs separately for a tightly matched diorama.

What the battery and button descriptions establish

All three listings specify three AAA, R03, 1.5-volt batteries included. They describe one sound on the first button press and another on a subsequent press.

They do not establish adjustable volume, a silent lighting-only mode, remote control, USB charging or battery runtime. Those may be important in a shared office or quiet display room, so confirm any required control behavior before buying. Follow the supplied instructions for battery installation and replacement.

When a model without documented electronics makes more sense

The 2015 unmarked Police Interceptor Utility, 76958, is a different option for an appearance-focused collection. Its description lists opening front doors but does not document lights and sounds.

Choose based on how the model will be used. A static shelf display may not need electronic effects; an effects-focused purchase should name the exact sound-enabled item code. For a younger recipient, check the product’s age guidance rather than assuming every sound-equipped collectible is suitable.
