’64 Prince Skyline GT Collector Guide
The Prince Skyline has the upright cabin and tidy proportions of an early Japanese sedan. In blue, the large number 39 gives it a race-day character. The black chase strips away that colorful look and draws your eye to the bright trim and small dark wheels.

A small sedan with two very different looks
The two 2024 Japan Historics 4 releases make a useful side-by-side display. Blue HRV70 has number 39 panels and is marked 1/5 on the card. Black HRV87 is the 0/5 chase. The package numbers, colors, and product codes are better identifiers than a listing that simply says “Skyline.”

Choosing one for your collection
Start with the roof corners, window pillars, and bright bumper edges when checking a loose example. The straight body lines make chips and rubbed trim easy to spot in a close side view. Ask for both sides; the door decoration is part of the appeal of the blue release.
Keep the package and vehicle identities together when comparing listings. A card photograph should show the number at the lower right and the actual car in its blister. A loose black Skyline needs a closer look at the complete finish and wheel combination, not just a seller’s chase label.
