1998 Camaro Z-28 — Figure 8 Racers 5-Pack
This record covers the Camaro Z-28 included in the 1998 Figure 8 Racers five-pack, assortment 18828. Collector references associate the pack car with the #853 Crossover Setup 4 release; the pack number identifies the assortment, not a separate single-car toy number.
Casting Info
The Hot Wheels Camaro Z-28 debuted in 1982 in the Hot Ones range as toy 5182. The casting is 1:64 scale and is associated with designer Larry Wood.
Construction varies across the family: later entries may use different body and base materials. Check each release individually rather than assuming every version shares the early metal body and base.
How to Identify This Release
Match the year, package or series, toy number and finish when recorded. Compare wheel and base details directly, and do not assign unlisted attributes.

Physical Details
Collector references describe a fluorescent yellow or neon yellow-green body with blue, red, black and white graphics. The side carries a “4” and “Crossover Setup” decoration. Both 5DOT and 5SP wheel versions are documented for the pack Camaro; this record does not assign either configuration to one specific car.
Packaging Details
Figure 8 Racers 18828 is a five-car assortment. The listed vehicles are Porsche 959, Ferrari 355, Chevy Stocker, Camaro Z-28 and Chevy 1500. The Camaro’s decoration is associated with the 1998 #853 release. Use the pack number to identify the assortment context.
Value Research
Compare the complete 18828 assortment separately from a loose Z-28. For the individual car, record the visible Crossover Setup graphics and wheel style; the published references list two wheel variants, so do not infer a wheel configuration from the pack number alone. Compare only matching release identities and condition, and keep loose cars separate from carded or complete-set examples. This guide does not assign a price estimate.
