American Diorama 1:18 4X4 Mechanics: Eight-Figure Set or Individual Figures?

American Diorama 1:18 4X4 Mechanic eight-figure set, items 18011 through 18018; car and display base excluded

Choose the eight-figure 1:18 4X4 Mechanic set for a broader workshop display; choose individual figures when you need only one task or have limited space beside a vehicle. The full set is not a garage kit, and buying more people does not automatically produce a better scene.

The complete 4X4 Mechanic set, items 18011–18018, includes eight figures. Its listing identifies hand-painted polyresin construction, individual blister packaging and standing-figure heights of approximately three to four inches.

Start with the space around the vehicle

Place your 1:18 car or truck on the intended shelf before deciding how many people to buy. Leave room for any doors or hood you intend to show open. Then identify the areas that need a figure: beside a wheel, near the work surface or behind the vehicle.

A single figure can give a parked model a sense of scale without hiding its bodywork. A larger arrangement can support several work areas, but the figures still need believable spacing. The set’s product photo should be treated as an example arrangement, not a promise that the pictured base comes in the box.

Choose an individual figure by its listed height and pose

Figure 1, AD18011, is approximately four inches tall. Figure 4, AD18014, is approximately 3.25 inches tall. Both are hand-painted polyresin figures in 1:18.

Those measurements describe the displayed pieces; they are not adjustable-height settings. Compare the photograph’s stance with the place you have available. A shorter overall figure may occupy more floor space than a standing one, and a hand position may not line up with every model’s bodywork.

Board-accessory listings need a little extra planning

Figure 2 with Board Accessory, AD18012, is listed at approximately 2.5 inches tall. Figure 8 with Board Accessory, AD18018, is approximately 3.25 inches tall.

Choose these exact listings when the board accessory is part of your plan. Their descriptions do not establish a universal board footprint or a guaranteed fit beneath a specific vehicle. Do not assume a pictured board is a working lift, or that a model can be supported on it.

When the complete set makes sense

The eight-figure offer is useful when you want several people available for a larger layout or plan to arrange more than one scene. Individual blister packaging also lets you keep unused figures contained while working on a smaller display.

Compare the current set price with the current prices of the particular singles you need. Do not assume a bundle discount: the useful comparison is the cost of the pieces you will actually use, not simply the largest figure count.

What you must supply separately

The complete set and the inspected individual listings exclude the car and display base shown. Buildings, lifts and other workshop equipment should not be counted as included unless the selected product expressly lists them.

Check 1:18 on every item, confirm the figure numbers already in your collection, and avoid buying the full set plus a single that merely duplicates a figure you did not need twice.
