American Diorama Figure Sizes: 1:18, 1:24, 1:43 or 1:64?

Choose the figure scale that matches your vehicle first, then check the listed height and pose. American Diorama makes figures in several sizes; buying by the brand name alone can leave a miniature person much too large or small for the car beside it.

A larger denominator means a smaller replica. For the same full-size subject, a 1:18 model is larger than a 1:24 model, which is larger than 1:43 or 1:64. That does not mean every person within one scale must have the same height.

This is the useful starting scale when the vehicle is marked 1:18. Check the shelf height as well as the car’s length: a standing person can rise above a low sports car, and a raised base adds to the total display height.

1:24: a smaller version is a separate product

Why height alone can mislead

A six-foot person is 72 inches tall. Pure scale arithmetic gives 4 inches at 1:18, 3 inches at 1:24, about 1.67 inches at 1:43 and 1.125 inches at 1:64. Those are calculated illustrations, not guaranteed measurements for any product.

A kneeling or seated figure measures less from the shelf to the top of its head than a standing figure of the same nominal scale. Clothing, stance and the person represented also matter. Use the actual listing, not an assumed universal height.

Make the final fit check

Confirm the vehicle’s stated scale, the exact figure item number and the usable display space. For a figure intended to sit inside a car, also verify the seat opening, leg position and whether installation is actually supported; a matching ratio alone is not a cockpit-fit guarantee.
