MUNCLE MIKES COLLECTOR GUIDE
1991 / 1993 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Collector Guide
Compare five linked Hot Wheels G-Class editions, from the 2019 olive debut through 2026 Road Trip. The early cards say 1991; later cards say 1993. Those represented-car years are separate from the toy release years.
Identification reference. No numeric market range is attached to these inspected exact-release records.

Official Identification
| Manufacturer / brand | Mattel / Hot Wheels |
|---|---|
| Stable MM family name | 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class |
| Package-name history | 1991 on early cards; 1993 on HKC72 / JKF38 cards |
| Scale category | Nominal 1:64 collector model; no newly measured dimensions |
| Documented Hot Wheels debut | 2019 GBW96, Furious Off-Road 2/5 |
| Linked edition coverage | Five records across 2019, 2020, 2023 and 2026 |
MM retains the canonical family and edition URLs so existing collection links continue to address the same records. The later 1993 package wording is documented; a name change alone does not prove a new tooling or justify moving a personal specimen to another family.
Variation Summary
| Edition | Series / package name | Finish / main clue | Wheels | Roof |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2019 GBW96 | Fast & Furious: Furious Off-Road 2/5; 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class | Flat green / satin olive; Detailed lights and Mercedes logos; dark side stripe | Black eight-hole Real Riders (RR8DOT) | Open rear body with no plastic hardtop in reference photograph |
| 2019 BE003 | Period Correct collaboration No set fraction shown; 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class | White; Blue/black rally stripes, number 251, Period Correct Rallye Racing and sponsor graphics | White eight-hole Real Riders (RR8DOT) | White plastic hardtop |
| 2020 GJT79 | Hot Wheels Boulevard #15; 1991 Mercedes-Benz G-Class | Metalflake silver; Detailed lights and Mercedes logos; black side stripe | Gray eight-hole Real Riders (RR8DOT) | Black plastic hardtop |
| 2023 HKC72 | Car Culture: HW Off Road 3/5; 1993 Mercedes-Benz G-Class | Black; The Big Pilot and IWC Schaffhausen team-support graphics; gray side stripe | Off-road eight-hole Real Riders (ORRR8DOT) | Black plastic hardtop |
| 2026 JKF38 | Car Culture: Road Trip 3/5; 1993 Mercedes-Benz G-Class | Steel blue; Detailed headlights, taillights and trim | Off-road ten-spoke Real Riders (ORRRBL10SP) | Black plastic hardtop |
The Period Correct record is included for its visible livery; its BE003/BE005 product-code discrepancy remains unresolved. These are linked documented editions, not a claim about factory production totals.
Physical Details
The upright short-wheelbase body, flat side panels and off-road stance make this casting recognizable. The edition table separates an exposed rear cabin from plastic-hardtop versions and eight-hole from ten-spoke Real Riders.
The white rally and silver Boulevard cars have clear glazing in the main release table. The black IWC and blue Road Trip editions use smoke glazing. The olive debut’s clear/tinted descriptions disagree across references. The Period Correct base color and silver base sheen also have source conflicts, so use a direct base view for those claims.
Packaging Details
| Furious Off-Road | Olive GBW96 on a premium blister card, 2/5 |
|---|---|
| Period Correct | White 251 rally car; collector references describe an acrylic cube/case |
| Boulevard | Silver GJT79, numbered card #15; GJT68 assortment mark |
| HW Off Road | Black HKC72, 3/5; FPY86 assortment mark |
| Road Trip | Blue JKF38, 3/5; FPY86 assortment mark |
The IWC and Road Trip cars share 3/5 but belong to different sets. The Boulevard number is another numbering system. These package numbers are not production totals. The four card fronts show Metal/Metal and Real Riders markings.
The Period Correct photograph shows the car and display plinth, without a complete case lid or a readable exact-code label. The retained MM BE003 identity disagrees with the separate Period Correct table’s BE005. A legible original product label is needed to resolve that discrepancy; this guide does not silently rename the backend record.
Reference Photos
These five images compare different editions. Four show packaged cars; the Period Correct image shows a display-plinth example. They do not provide multiple angles or establish the condition of an offered specimen.

Condition and Originality
Inspect square bumper corners, arch edges and the exposed roof frame or fitted hardtop. On a loose hardtop edition, document a missing or substituted roof separately from paint wear; the removable component is part of its release configuration.
Check the rally sponsor printing on the white car and the IWC lettering on the black car in close-up. Record wheel swaps, tire changes, repainting, disturbed rivets or other modifications explicitly. An off-road silhouette alone cannot establish the original factory wheel/livery combination.
For carded cars, record blister, seal, hanger and card damage separately from the toy. For the collaboration car, include case, plinth, lid and original label/box completeness in the acquisition notes. A display case by itself does not authenticate the car inside.
Completed-Sale Evidence and Value
No eligible exact-release completed-sale observations are attached to the five inspected published records. No price range, demand score or resale prediction is displayed. An old catalog reference price or an active retailer listing is not a freshly verified sale.
Match the right edition and separate loose, sealed-card and display-case condition groups. Resolve the Period Correct identity discrepancy before approving any exact-code comparable. Read MM’s completed-sales value methodology.
Track Your Collection
Select the precise release before saving an owned or wanted car. A family overview groups the catalog; your car’s roof completeness, condition and acquisition history belong to a separate specimen entry.
Collection entries currently use this browser’s storage. Review and export them in My Workspace, or view My Portfolio. A printed guide is not independent authentication of a physical car.
Collector Questions
Why do related cards say 1991 and 1993?
Those names are visible on different editions within the retained family. They describe the represented car, while 2019–2026 identifies the documented toy releases.
Is the white collaboration BE003 or BE005?
The two collector tables disagree. MM preserves its BE003 canonical record and discloses the BE005 reference. An original readable product label is needed for a resolved exact-code claim.
Does a black roof alone identify an edition?
No. Silver Boulevard, black IWC and blue Road Trip editions each have a black hardtop. Compare body decoration, wheel design, glazing and package code together.
Find Cars at MM
The catalog search returned no exact active Hot Wheels matches for these five edition codes. Search MM for G-Class listings and match the offered car’s brand, scale, livery, roof configuration, wheels and condition.
Explore the MM Mercedes-Benz hub, loose Hot Wheels or finished customs. A different-scale Mercedes or modified car is a separate product, not an exact factory-edition comparable.
