Research the release, not just the casting name

A casting may be produced for decades across mainlines, premiums, multipacks, convention releases, store exclusives and promotional sets. Every release must be identified independently before value is assigned.

Minimum release record

• Release year and series
• Toy and collector numbers
• Body color and finish
• Tampo description
• Wheel type
• Base material, color and country
• Interior and window colors
• Package type
• Known production codes

Names can be reused or changed, and similar vehicles can be different castings. The engine uses a casting-family record plus separate variation records to prevent those releases from being combined incorrectly.
