2007 Shelby GT-500 Collector Guide

The first Shelby releases use familiar rally stripes, but the casting soon branches into racing numbers, sponsor graphics and camouflage. These thirty-three pictured releases show how much the same body can change. Wheels, interior colors and window tint help separate cars that share a year or multipack assortment code.

Look beyond the rally stripes

Phil Riehlman’s casting debuted in 2008 New Models. Faster Than Ever and Speed Machines followed in 2010, before Nightburnerz and Code Cars added their own racing decoration. The later multipacks bring three numbered colors for 2019 and three camouflage designs for 2021. Each photograph and caption links to the guide for that version.

Choosing one for your collection

Start with the side graphics and wheels. Three purple releases in this gallery have different combinations: the 2009 Mystery car carries 09 and gold ten-spoke wheels; the 2012 Code Cars carries 28 and yellow-rimmed J5 wheels; the 2019 multipack carries 5 and yellow-rimmed OH5 wheels. On the white Nightburnerz car, check the window tint as well as the orange stripes.

Collector questions

Is D20 the toy number of the black Nightburnerz Shelby?

No. D20 is a production-date code recorded on the base. The flat-black Nightburnerz release is cataloged under T9818 and V0019. Its lime interior, green graphics and J5 wheels are more useful when comparing listing photos.
