Use this checklist to identify castings associated with 1985, then verify the exact car in front of you. Compare the casting name, base, wheels, glazing, interior, paint and tampo details before assigning a release or variation. A model year in the vehicle name is not the same thing as the Hot Wheels release year.
Color alone is not enough to establish a rare variation. Recolors, retailer editions, wheel changes and later reissues can share the same casting name. For loose cars, inspect both sides and the base; for carded cars, verify the blister, card printing and the vehicle together.
